Agree - a lot of people do think Romney was throwing the election...quite possibly due to Obama’s spying. So I guess it did work there.
Romney cleaned Obama’s clock in the first debate. I have no doubt Obongo had the questions in advance for the next two. In Fact, he probably picked them. Everyone could see Monica Crowley was acing as Obongo’s ally in the second.
My memory of the Romney campaign and the debates - is that of Candy Crowley interfering with a legitimate discussion on the Benghazi disaster. Obama claimed that he had acknowledged the affair as a terrorist attack on our embassy. When Romney challenged Obama and was basically calling POTUS Obama a liar, Crowley jumped in and sided with Obama. This was totally unfair and untruthful. It was despicable behavior for a so-called moderator to so openly support the lies of a leftist President.
That incident totally took the wind out of Romney, who is known to be a gentlemanlike type of person. He did not challenge Crowley.
I think that may have been a signal for DJT to jump into the 2016 election. Trump will never be a patsy for his opponents. He will fight for what he believes. That quality is what endeared him to the rest of us ‘deplorables’ and fly-over country patriots.
