Lucky Dr. Johnson got it back. A friend of ours had hers stolen and knows where it is but the LEOs said stay away as it is in a location with an ongoing investigation. Gurrrr. Tracked it with gps.

The author must be using autocomplete-the “cord” she is referring to is not the “chord” that has anything to do with music...

I’m almost paranoid about keeping my phone close and available only to me-it is inside an Otterbox which is inside a case clipped to my waistband or belt-the gps is turned off unless I need to let the contractor I work with know my whereabouts, a password is needed to unlock it, and it never leaves my person unless I’m at home. I don’t use any apps that request my location, and I don’t use the phone to go on the internet-and even at that. if someone wanted to track me using my cell signal, I’m sure they could...

If you use EZPass you're being tracked all over they city. (It' not just for taking toll money).

Go to youtube and search EZ pass tracking.

LOL Everybody I know who has lost a cell phone in DC has been told by the cops the same story! The cops don't want to tangle with the ferals.

Back up precious photos with iCloud or a removable drive.

Hard to believe that people still don't back up their portable devices. But that indeed still is happening. Anyone with an iPhone should back up their data - it's super easy and automatic in the background. You can set it to do it automatically via iCloud, or manually to your home computer (my preference). And back up your home computer!

That gal had videos and pictures of her dead mom on that iPhone, and no backups. I recently recovered data for a neighbor who had a failed hard drive, same thing, photos of a relative who died, but no backups. Dumb, dumb, dumb.
