CHINESE warships have confronted US Navy vessels today in what has been described as a “serious incident”.
The tense naval drama unfolded after the American warships sailed near South China Sea islands claimed by China.
The presence of the US warships was slammed by Beijing just as President Donald Trump seeks to make peace with North Korea to avoid a serious war breaking out.
The operation in the South China Sea was the latest bid to counter what Washington condemns as brazen efforts to take control of the strategical important seas.
The hotly contested region is also rich in fossil fuels which China desperately needs to feed is industrialising economy with cheap energy.
While this naval drills had been planned months in advance, and similar operations have become routine, it comes at a particularly sensitive time.
It comes just days after the Pentagon uninvited China from a major US-hosted naval drill.

Trust me. China knows this and they will continue verbal belligerence. And they will illegally bully their smaller Asian neighbors in the South China Sea. They won’t do jack to Japan, though.

We can’t get in an all out war with China; Russia would then jump in on the other end. W’ve lost the South China Seas because of Obozo’s negligence and hollowing out our military. Our Navy is a paper tiger, half of its equipment doesn’t work and the rest is dependent on parts from, you guessed it, China.

This was prefaced by saying China can restrict access to “small claimant states”. That means Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, etc.
China is not ready to face off with the US Navy. Not even close.
A lotta folks don’t realize our forces slow-walked some fearsome new tech until CINC was elected, or a coup, whichever came first.
More testing by our enemies and competitors, not so much of our capabilities, but our resolve. I’m sure the ChiComs and others are looking forward to 2024, when the illegals voting in our elections can put another Barry in the White House. Elections matter, especially fair ones in honest countries.

So, 16in, 8in and 5in gus, along with a bunch of Grumann F6 Hellcats could sink a modern US Fleet?
Each of our DDGs has at least 50 SM-6 and/or SM-3. And all of our ships have Phalanx. And superior Radars. Hell, even the old version of the Harpoon has a 50 mile range.
And a modern Mark-48 torpedo would split the spine of any ship we had afloat in 1945.
Did I mention all our carrier aircraft can carry laser and optical guided bombs?
The only danger our current navy would face is the boredom interlude while waiting to resupply ordnance.

My only concern would be the ordnance load and stores for resupply.
Other than that, it’s little more than a video game in the CIC.
