I’ve had several very different experiences there. First couple of times everyone was very quiet and respectful of this sacred place. Then disembarked with a boat load of Japanese youth. They couldn’t shut up. Terrible experience. Last time a USMC retired was a docent and demanded respect. He looked like he just had spent the morning as a drill instructor to some boots. Everything about him was perfect.

I wonder if they could have some sort of permanent posting like the tomb of the unknown soldier where a serviceman tells people to shut up and show respect.
