US President Donald Trump seemed to revive hopes for a summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un next month, telling reporters at the Oval Office late Saturday, "we're looking at June 12th in Singapore. That hasn't changed."

His remarks came as South Korean President Moon Jae-in delivered his first public comments since a surprise meeting with the North Korean leader on Saturday, saying Kim was still committed to denuclearization.

Good. Trump wants peace, but not at any cost.

N Korea and China must understand that.

Where are all the "TRUMP GOT PLAYED!" losers at now?

Donald Trump is to the Presidency what George Washington was to the battlefield. Mind-blowing, political and tactical genius. Even surpassing Reagan.

But Lowry at the National Rino Review says the summit should stay cancelled.

I agree, however it was a different time, more genteel and not as polarized and combative as things are now. So I think Reagan was better than Trump would have been for his time, just as Trump, now, is better than Reagan would have been if he was trying to get things done now as president.

It’s pretty telling that the coverage of this on-again/off-again summit by the MSM is that Trump is waffling and confused. Yeah, that’s it, it couldn’t be that Kim Jong pulled out because Trump could reasonably be expected to beg them to come back to the negotiating table and start showering them with gifts to do it. Every president after Reagan has been like with this guy, of course he’s going to see what he can get for it. This is the approach that Zero took with Iran and we all know how that fustercluck went.

It is good to have slammed typical NK ploy. That is how this has to be played. On the other hand, I hope nobody brings up stupid Nobel Peace Prize and premature euphoria again.

Yeah, they’ve been presenting this as Trump waffling all week, conveniently forgetting how bad a failure Zero was in all aspects of foreign policy. That idiot could enter a negotiation with a dead and hanging Mussolini and walk out $100 billion lighter.

"More genteel (gentile)?" Dude, I lived through the 80s and Reagan was excoriated by the media, the Left, and the RINOs then just as Trump is now. You had the same Republican clowns like Warren Rudman (the John McCain in his day) going on the Sunday shows whining that Reagan was "going too far." Reagan preserved not through deft political tactics that Trump possesses, but through his personality and character.

I'm sorry, but Donald Trump is a mind-blowing political tactical commander. Think of how Reagan signed the stupid original amnesty deal compared to how Trump handled it. Even Reagan supported the Brady Bill.

Trump has never said that he thought he would win, or even wanted, the Nobel Peace Prize. He says that the prize will be peace in the world. It’s the media and other Trump haters that harp on the Nobel.

Also even during that time in the 80s - right smack dab in the Reagan era - Trump was still talking about things that he is acting on now. Go see his interview with Oprah back then. Nothing has changed.

You and I and America are in the midst of history being rewritten and future leaders studying Trump just like generals are still studying Napoleon now.

Unfortunately, there are many here at FR pushing the same thing. People like them started it and some Internet publication such as Townhall picked it up. Then onto MSM and beyond.

“Best President in a long, time.”

Understand, I loved Ronald Reagan, and he was both a wonderful Governor and President. But in terms of accomplishments, Trump has him hands down. For my dough, Trump is the best president of my lifetime and I am approaching 78. But the far more disturbing thing, is that virtually ALL of the rest of them from FDR to today, were a pack of worthless, self-serving a$$holes, who were in it for themselves and not for us. Most especially the Republicans, with the BOOSH Clan heading my list of $hit, because we put our trust in them and they sold us out. I can’t even write here what I think of McCain and how he would have had the ability to be a White Obama!

“But Lowry at the National Rino Review says the summit should stay cancelled.”

The word Lowry is profane and should not be allowed here.

“On the other hand, I hope nobody brings up stupid Nobel Peace Prize and premature euphoria again. “

If Trump pulls off this denuclearization of NK and the Nobel Prize is given, Trump should publicly wipe his butt with the ribbon on it on national TV.

Back in 1999, Trump was talking about North Korea and stating that they would play ball if "spoken to correctly."

More and more, I'm thinking that Trump was thinking of the presidency for decades and was preparing himself for that.

Reagan was a great president but I think Trump is going to go down as even a greater one based on his first 16 months.

It’s relative. For example, I don’t think the evangelicals of the 80’s would have been as willing to overlook some of Trump’s personal flaws back then.

And don’t get me wrong ... I’m not disagreeing with any of your policy comments, I just don’t think Trump could have even gotten elected in the 80’s, or if he somehow did, I don’t think his style of governing would have worked as well then as it does today.

Oh, and FYI ... genteel is correct, meaning refined. Gentile means someone who is not Jewish.

Of course there’s always “gentle”, as in Bush Sr.’s kinder and gentler nation. And then there’s also genitals, as in Trump’s debate guarantee that he has “no problem in that area” ... which I guess is a good example of my point, being that Trump commenting on his genitals works well in today’s reality TV culture ... but I think the reaction to that in the 80’s would have been completely different, don’t you?
