Close aide to Kim Jong Un returns to Pyongyang after mystery trip to Beijing: sources
BEIJING A close aide to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un returned to Pyongyang from Beijing on Saturday, informed sources said, after making a brief trip expected to draw even more speculation after U.S. President Donald Trump abruptly canceled next months summit with Kim.
Kim Chang Son, a senior official of North Koreas State Affairs Commission, arrived in Beijing on Thursday, the sources said, adding he may have planned to also visit Singapore to prepare for the recently canceled June 12 summit there.
Some sources said another reason the North Korean official may have been sent to Beijing was to arrange a visit to Pyongyang by Chinese President Xi Jinping.
When the two met in Beijing in March, Xi accepted Kims invitation to visit Pyongyang as soon as possible.
On Thursday strict security was maintained around a special exit for VIPs at Beijing International Airport, in an apparent attempt to prevent journalists and photographers from covering the arrival of a North Korean delegation.

Some Chinese speculate that this may be the preparation for another visit by Kim Jong-un to China. The following is said to be a special bulletin for temporary suspension of train travels in some part of northeast China. Most of them are concentrated on May 27, 28 and June 12, 13. This is not a definite proof that Kim will be going to China via train again. Maybe it has something to do with maintenance or military movements, but something worth paying attention to.

keep the status quo franticly No doubt. Their plan is to slowly take over E. Asia. Abrupt change of status quo would ruin it.

Looks like both Koreas and China are trying real hard to keep ‘their balance’ in these negotiations etc. after Trump shook them up pulling out of the meeting prior.
meeting is ‘still’ on....
BTW Tiger...did you see Kim put in his news to his people that the reason he used blustering language was to make certain Trump would get to the meeting!!! ....He’s having difficulty keeping up with the news cycles getting out his twisted propaganda to his people as the political climate changes. LOLOL

China wasn’t happy when Trump said they weren’t allowed in the standard war games over there.

I guess they did not tell people about those groveling remarks to Trump made by their senior Foreign Ministry official. They tried to play Trump but got played by him instead. I think China does not want to see the summit canceled, either. They may want to cut Trump down to size, but won't go so far as outright cancellation.

There will be many unhappy things for China if they keep trying to undermine Trump. E. Asian equivalent of Trump's decision to move U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem is to scrap One China policy. I think it will be in the cards if China holds out. If People's Republic begins to see the flag of Republic of China hoisted at many international events, they will go crazy.

This is so cool!
China/NK think dropping the nukes is a deakmaker but Trump knows they’re throwaways. China wants a peaceful Korea and they’re just gonna have to pay for it.

The outcome of this depends *entirely* on the Butchers of Bejing. If they decide that a nuclear-free "DPRK" is in *their* best interests then the talks will succeed. They may well decide that to be the case for a couple of reasons...1) because they don't want nuclear fallout drifting into their airspace and 2) because they don't want Japan developing a nuke.
OTOH,they may decide that Kim Jong Psychopath is a useful tool in distracting the US while they quickly expand their navy and annex more and more territory in East Asia and elsewhere.
