President Trump signed three executive orders Friday containing sweeping reforms that weaken protections for federal workers and eliminate perks for the unions that represent them.
Under the new executive orders, unions will be charged rent for federal office space and will not be reimbursed for travel expenses or for hours spent appealing worker firings.
All federal workers will be ordered to spend 75 percent of their time on government work, and agencies are ordered to publicly post union contracts in an online repository.

I’d rather they be watching cat videos than porn...
IT’S REALLY CAT PORN.
Union work. We used to have a guy that worked at a community college we represented and he even had an office in our building, 100% of his time doing union work.
100% of his time doing union work.
Apparently there is a definition of the word work that Im unaware of.
L
How about 100% work on 100% gov’t jobs.!
What a rip off and lousy work ethic@! And ON OUR TAXPAYER MONEY!
I think this pertains to union stewards, they spend a lot of time addressing grievances such as "my manger is mean and said I have to be to work on time". Yes, I was once in the UAW.
Exactly. It allows Union work to be done on the tax payers dime, freeing up Union Dues $$$ to be used to bribe politicians and stuff the pockets of Union Bosses. The free office space was also a kickback to the unions for political support and bribe money. I agree with others here that we must demand government workers be required to spend 100% of their time doing GOVERNMENT WORK. Pay union employees with union dues.
In the public school district that I worked for, the president of the NEA local worked a half load and got half of each day out of the classroom to take care of union business.
I can imagine how this "perk" would be abused by the feds.
Trump did good.
The provision of office space and time on the “job” for union representation has been common for decades. Just how much time is now spent by feral “employees” on union business I don’t know but nearly 30 years ago my late father was spending at least 2 days a week as a manager dealing with union activities and complaints. Actual work on the project he managed was done by a shrinking minority people the rest were larking at taxpayer expense. As the Greatest Generation retired the problems of managing the “workforce” became ever worse.

Ive often said that at least 20 to 25% of my time as a government engineer was wasted. Ive taken ethics training yearly for 20 years. Add to that hearing conservation, records training, Opsec training, human trafficking training, ergonomics training, and a bunch of others I cant recall. Some are easy, some have tests that waste more time some are videos I can leave on go get a cup of coffee as they drone on and on. More than once Ive had to take some of them over again cause of computer hiccups. On top of my PE continuing education I have to complete 80 hours of continuous learning due to some stupid Federal rule. Ive gotten ugh er inventive over time about what is training and my boss has no incentive to turn down anything I submit. I could write more about the stupidity of work related assignments but Ill keep it short. Im in the military so there is an endless parade of new colonels and captains (Ive worked for the AF and Navy) cycling through every 2 years or less with their own agenda trying to get noticed for promotion. So we have new systems, programs, ideas etc we learn employ and sometimes drop as they leave. I could go on but suddenly want a beer.
Its only a small step in the right direction of reining in the bloated bureaucracy but its most welcome.
I can’t really think of a single thing Trump has done that I disagree with. OK....appointing that one crappy judge from Hawaii to the 9th circuit but that’s really it.
“Executive Order 10988 is a United States presidential executive order issued by President John F. Kennedy on January 17, 1962 that recognized the right of federal employees to collective bargaining.”
This EO needs to be superseded by a Trump EO that does away with public unions and their collective bargaining.
Civil service? Does that include the SES, the deep state Senior Executive Service?
Just sayin'...
Republican's own the House & Senate and can pass the aforementioned legislation without a single Democrat vote. They oughtta do it!
Yes that’s exactly what that’s about!
Union activities.
Your sense of entitlement is amazing.
Good news Friday before the long weekend. Thanks dude..F unions. I hate them.
This is awesome!!!!!
