LOS ANGELES - Leaders of the notorious Mexican Mafia were charged Wednesday with running a conspiracy to control drug trafficking and carry out violence ordered from inside Los Angeles County jails.
The U.S. attorney's office charged 83 people tied to racketeering conspiracies that alleged they ran drugs and carried out violent assaults and even murders.
"These cases have delivered a major blow to the Mexican Mafia and leaders of many of the street gangs under the control of the organization," U.S. Attorney Nick Hanna said. "By taking out the gang members who control the jails, and by disrupting their communications network, we undermined the Mexican Mafia's ability to coordinate street gang activity."

Don’t call them animals though.
If they control the jails, how does it help to put more of them in the jails?
There is a better solution...
No worries. Moonbeam already let several illegals out of jail. No doubt, as soon as he learns about this, he will let these misunderstood kids out, as well.
“”By taking out the gang members...”
best way to take them out /disrupt their communication = execution.
Seems jails originally were meant to be short term places for people not long term business as it’s become. But that was back when more people clearly understood right from wrong and didn’t tangle feelings and trying to afford inmates with many comforts or extras.
Cut the head of the snake and the snake dies. Tell the Mexican government no more money until you show us results! That goes for all the rest of the teet suckers in the world
> “ racketeering conspiracies that alleged they ran drugs and carried out violent assaults and even murders.”
There are no ‘allegations’, there are ‘facts’ spanning decades.
There are those who say that ‘drug legalization’ would reduce crime by eliminating the profit motive of the gangs.
Not true, not true at all, not even in the least.
These are hardened criminals that will find a criminal path no matter what. The ‘what’ is irrelevant, there will always be a ‘what’. There will always be criminal opportunities for these ‘animals’ to pursue.

IMO, the issue goes back to CONSEQUENCE(S) of action. Jail does little to nothing for restitution and self-inflection.
Capital punishment takes 30yrs+, if at all, and most other ‘crimes’ involve a turn-style @ the front door.
Turn off the A/C, disconnect the TVs, empty the library, re-institute chain-gangs (*HARD*, manual labor) and actually dole out PUNISHMENT (kill the ones that need killing) and I’d bet there would be change soon.
Too, We have to many damn ‘laws’ and WAY too many lawyers...
How many Mexican Mafia and other gang members are in CA jails? What is it costing U.S. taxpayers? Inquiring minds want to know.
80 is a “massive” sweep?
Cue the faux outrage on the left...
Yeah, but now the DA’s are going to have to downgrade the charges so that they aren’t convicted of felonies. Wouldn’t want them to get deported for a felony conviction ...
Is this just good news or the real thing? Many times they arrest the less important folks to satisfy the public and the let the cartel leaders continue their rat lines to put their dirty money into the pockets of our dirty folks in law enforcement and dirty government officials.
Keep on this and when this cools down see if ANYTHING really changes.
Should be 8 million
Too many milquetoasts.
he will let these misunderstood kids out, as well.
These are Federal charges. Thankfully Governor Moonbeam has no authority over them.

The Mexican government has nothing to do with the Mexican Mafia. It was started by LA street gangs, at DVI at Tracy, CA. It is a bit ironic, that La eMe, was founded at a Northern California facility, when they are a Southern California gang, bitterly opposed by Nuestra Familia, a Northern California gang.
Winning!
Jerry’s kids at play.
