TheDC independently confirmed the veracity of the consultants position and access, and reviewed detailed transcripts of his Q&A with the special agent, who requested the arrangement due to internal dragnets and fear of vicious retribution.
These agents prefer to be subpoenaed to becoming an official government whistleblower, since they fear political and professional backlash, the former Trump administration official explained to TheDC.
The subpoena is preferred, he said, because when you are subpoenaed, Congress then pays for your legal counsel and the subpoena protects [the agent] from any organizational retaliation . they are on their own as whistleblowers, they get no legal protection and there will be organizational retaliation against them.
DiGenova who along with his wife, Victoria Toensing, has represented government whistleblowers in the past agreed, telling TheDC, Its an intelligent approach to the situation given the vindictive nature of the bureau under Comey and McCabe. I have no idea how to read Chris Wray, who is not a leader and who has disappeared from the public eye during this entire crisis. You know, he may be cleaning house but if hes doing so, hes doing it very quietly.

Would you like me to start naming Americans, Americans who were not part of the Founders, who gave it all without incentives and built-in protections? Let me know, I'll me more than happy to accommodate you.
You can start with me. I served without incentives or built-in protections, whatever that means. But that is not the issue.
Are you against providing these agents with protection, which is easy to furnish with a subpoena? They are not shirking their duties. Their patriotism and dedication shouldn't be in question because they do not want to suffer financial ruin for themselves and their families that can easily be avoided.
No, those are your words, your implications. If you'd bother to read my posts you would have read multiple times, "If subpoenas are the only way to get them to talk, so be it. Getting the subpoenas/guarantees out, shouldn't take long at all.".
Try reading my posts prior to responding.
“You don’t have to diminish the service and sacrifice of federal civilian employees to burnish those in the military.”
It is nonsense to burnish unionized fedgov employees to the level of the military.
If unionized fedgov workers want to be compared to the military, then get rid of govt employee unions, provide salaries and pensions at military levels, put them in the VA health care system, and place them under the UCMJ. Then we’ll talk.
That was a KO response.
Caputo was on FOX tonight and said his legal foundation would pay any legal cost of any agent that wanted to testify.
My gag response won't tolerate it.
LOL. You are the one who wants to make the comparison to the detriment of those federal civilian employees who put their lives on the line. I have experienced both perspectives. I came closer to be killed as a Foreign Service Officer than I did in the military in Vietnam. Since WWII, more ambassadors have been killed serving their country than flag officers.
FYI: Many federal civilians have served in the military as well. Again, I fail to see why you feel compelled to make this ludicrous comparison that somehow the service of an FBI agent or a CIA officer is less heroic or worthy than serving in the military.
What have you done for God and country? Have you served in the military? Have you ever worked for the government at any level?
From my perspective you've provided enough personal information for everyone on this thread, as it seems you like to wear your experiences or past positions on your sleeve.
And by the way slick, no matter how much ya try to make this report about me, it's not.
LOL. Just another guy in his parents basement pontificating about how the real world should operate. Based on your response, I know you never served in uniform. An empty drum makes the most noise. Save your BS about how true patriots should act for the uninformed.
Parents basement? I guess I should have expected that type of 3rd rate response from you. Is resorting to baseless insults your weak attempt to get me to tell you my background?
Try harder.
Great article.
Too bad it’s been exhaustively hijacked.
“Caputo was on FOX tonight and said his legal foundation would pay any legal cost of any agent that wanted to testify.”
I saw that. That man is pissed and determined.
The next hurdle the witnesses would have to jump is finding someone who would hire them. The FBI would find some excuse to fire them. After all, Strzok still works in the FBI’s HR Department.
It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out over time.
I agree with you, also am happy to see things move by the right direction
