It’s an acceptable risk to build a geothermal plant because it necessarily has to be built in proximity to a geothermal feature.
Like we live between Cody, Wyoming and Yellowstone and because we’re near the caldera we have the benefit of a hot spring on the ranch that we use to heat the driveway, outbuildings, house, hot tub, and pool. Aside from my husband having to clean out the pipes every year we get free heat and that means a lot to our budget.
Totally worth it to us even if it means that someday we may need to leave it all behind if the Yellowstone supervolcano erupts.
