WASHINGTON — The special counsel plans to finish by Sept. 1 its investigation into whether President Trump obstructed the Russia inquiry, according to the president’s lawyer Rudolph W. Giuliani, who said on Sunday that waiting any longer would risk improperly influencing voters in the midterm elections in November.
The office of the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, shared its timeline about two weeks ago amid negotiations over whether Mr. Trump will be questioned by investigators, Mr. Giuliani said, adding that Mr. Mueller’s office said the date was contingent on Mr. Trump agreeing to be interviewed. A spokesman for the special counsel’s office declined to comment.
Mr. Giuliani’s comments were an apparent attempt to publicly pressure Mr. Mueller amid their interview negotiations. He urged that the investigation be wrapped up as soon as possible, pointing as a cautionary tale to the revelation by the former F.B.I. director James B. Comey in the last days of the 2016 presidential race that he was reopening the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server. Mr. Comey’s announcement is widely blamed by Democrats for costing her the election. The F.B.I. found no wrongdoing.

No one is going to jail however much we might wish ... the report be out just before the Fall elections and will dovetail with Mueller’s report which will hint at DJT doing something and that will be enough to trigger Dem take over of both Houses and signal the start of Impeachment proceedings and the resulting Constitutional Crisis.

Well, that was one “probe” that went nowhere, so now it’s obstruction. By Sept. 1 there will still be nothing, so they’ll find something else to “probe”.
Good advice about criticizing anyone. That way they’re a mile away and have no shoes.
Doesn’t the “obstruction” case boil down to a few tweets and a couple of meetings and public statements? How can there be enough material to investigate for 14 more weeks? If something is that hard to find, how can it possibly have amounted to a serious attempt at obstruction?
