Socialism itself is based on one big lie:
...that mankind is better off controlled by a governing class vs. existing free, as self-governing individuals.
...that mankind is better off when a governing class redistributes wealth vs when individuals freely enter into mutually beneficial market transactions.
...that mankind is wiser and more compassionate when compelled to be such by a central governing class than when compelled by their individual consciences.
Of course, the real lie at the heart of socialism is the claim that the “collective” wisdom of a central government is superior to the combined wisdom of the individuals.
How could it be? Are the people who wind up in government wiser or morally superior? Of course not. Is there something about government service that appeals to a higher conscience? Of course not - the very opposite is true.
They are just individuals who happen to be in government, but now they have power - and power corrupts.
That’s why the founding fathers placed restrictions on the size and scope of the government via the constitution - which, sadly, are now all but ignored.
When we elect a rare politician who wants to drain the swamp, deregulate, defund, and thereby limit the government, we are called “deplorable”.
Their entire philosophy is based on a lie and they dare call us liars.
Thank you, founding fathers. It was a good 200 years.
