The 17-year-old suspect in Friday's shooting at a Texas high school killed a classmate who turned down his repeated advances, killing her first in his deadly rampage that also killed nine others, according to the girl's mother.
Student Shana Fisher's mother told the LA Times that junior Dimitrios Pagourtzis gave her daughter "4 months of problems" before Fisher rejected him publicly in front of classmates.
"A week later he opens fire on everyone he didn't like," she wrote to the newspaper. "Shana being the first one."

There’s a little bit of sentencing legerdemain called “concurrently.” But it would have to be an awfully sympathetic case to be treated in that manner. An open loon with a strange history who utterly snapped in an illogical way. We in the peanut gallery cannot truly know at this point. Let defense and prosecution duke this one out.
Or else he could try gathering his own claque, or even woo some of the lesser femmes, some of whom might be even sympathetic if he played his cards wisely and patiently. None of which would need a murder.
You see, it could have been a matter of a point of philosophical reflection. If this gal on whom he had a crush would act like that, isn’t it better he learned about it loud and clear? She might not have gotten all the admiration she thought she deserved. Were I another suitor of this gal, at that point I’d be thinking Whoa! she’s cruel, do I want that? Karma, so to speak, can be a female dog.
Agreed. My only point was the girls action of humiliating him in front of his peers. She signed her own death warrant with him once she did that. She made her power play (humiliating him in his world) and he made his (killing her). In his sick mind, he won.
Perhaps she led him on in some way and then crossed him, we’ll never know. She didn’t deserve to die for it that’s for sure. But he obviously thought she did.
Crushes, infatuations can be like that. Here’s where a good dad, a good uncle, a good older brother, even a good school pal can be of help. In helping him understand that the dream that blew up might have been a nightmare.
Agreed. He needed someone....she also needed someone.
She murdered him in every important way...in his mind. I’m absolutely positive he would have much rather she had shot him in the head several times instead of what she did. He retaliated and struck back at those who were cruel to him.
Nope, SCOTUS said that you cannot do that, they even applied it retroactively.
Juveniles cannot be sentenced to life without parole.
I think you are right. Its the humiliation. Like the gay guy whose straight roommate videoed the gay guys First forays into gay sex in the room. And showed the whole dorm. The gay boy killed himself.
Kids need to learn social-emotional skills right in the classroom. That will help all sides. How to stop an aggressive love-pursuer, with class and decency. How to understand no one owes you anything, not even friendship, just because you like them. Respect that not everyone needs to like everyone. And NEVER SOLVE SOCIAL PROBLEMS WITH VIOLENCE. Parents need to be more aware of their kids social lives and step in when the see problems, including changing the kids school. There are so many online high schools, charter homeschools, etc. No excuse for keeping an antisocial kid in a giant high school filled with streetsmart teens.
>> in 20 years, she will be fat, wrinkled, or forgettable.
Agreed. But not sure cherry and bluejean know what you mean. A discussion for another thread...
Back to Sante Fe... there must be some systemic psychosis that’s green-lighting this intemperate response to social rejection. And it goes beyond the massacres. It’s exemplified by Antifa, by the protests against conservative speech, the attacks against capitalism... it’s the violent revenge of the psycho-nerds.
I’m wondering if she thought publicly rejecting him would give her witnesses if he later started stalking her, or would be more definitive than whatever private advances she had turned down.
She probably noticed he was a bit crazy but never foresaw this of course. Sad.
She was failed by the adult (Liberals) around her. There needed to be a male coach or some male history/science teacher to take the boy aside and teach him.
The girl in turn needed some kind of wordily woman to take her in hand and help guide her. Unfortunately todays culture actively works against such options.
Not a liar, jackass. You did indeed piss in my shoes when I described having to deal with abusive women.
You’re a piece of work laying the massacre on the girl.
And you want my address to what... get violent?
Get a grip.
Do you not have any children? A daughter?
