At least eight people have been killed in a Texas high school shooting Friday, FOX 26 reported. The suspected shooter was taken into custody and the active shooter situation was said to be over.

Police officers responded to Santa Fe High School around 8 a.m. CDT after reports that a shooter opened fire inside. The gunman appears to be a student, KTRK reports, citing a law enforcement official. Further details of the incident were not immediately available.

In a truly civilized society the Parkland murderer would have been tried, convicted, and publicly hanged within 10 days of his crime. Had that been done, the perp guilty of this atrocity might have decided not to do it.

One would think that, but then it does makes sense to go for the stronghold and leave some markers. Two major hits within a year sounds like the Deep State is going for the big play now. I doubt they take either branch in Congress in 2018 completely, but unless we move Republican contingent to the right, it will be tough sledding in 2020 when we have to defend far more seats than the Democrats in the Senate. Texas has GOT to be our rock solid, both the figurative and the literal Alamo against the Deep State oppressors.

Requiring a concealed carry permit before granting a teaching credential, and ending gun prohibition in schools will end this nonsense.

Naw, requiring all teachers to be armed would be just as dumb as having no teachers armed. I can count five teachers I had in High school I won't trust with a pencil sharpener.

But I do agree with ending the "no gun' laws.

Didn't say they weren't good teachers because two of them were very good teachers and two so-so, the last I don't know how she became a teacher other than she filled two quota slots, black and female.

She would probably shot all the wrong kids if she knew how to cock a simple wheel gun. Very dumb. I kid you not.

Look the schools that have metal detectors and armed guards are not having these problems so it pretty much works. Nothing is perfect but it would be a major deterrent.

Have no problem with either but having only one exit entrance is against all fire codes and having a guard at every entrance will be expensive as they will be unionized.

Just don't want people to think there's a "one size fits all attitude.Which is why I support allowing some teachers to conceal carry. Defense in layers is what I am thinking.

The killer will always have the advantage as only he knows where and how he will strike.

Once all these preventive measures are in place a few years these spree killers will stop as the body count will drop back to pre-" No Gun Zone" levels and the killers get frustrated and stop or seek other venues to vent their angst.
