Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Recep Akdağ said: "A free and democratic Syria can only be built without (Syrian President Bashar) Assad."

Turkey is the remaining Terrorist source in Northern Syrian. There will never be freedom in Syria as long as Turkey is ruled by Erdogan the Islamist. And if he were absent, I doubt that Turkey will change their ways. They have not since the beginning of the Ottoman Empire. There are large pockets of Syrian citizens who have demonstrated over the past 5 years that they can live together peacefully; Kurd, Ezidi, Alevi, Arab and Assyrian. Except for the small pocket left along the Iraq border East of the Euphrates which is encircled, ISIS in Syria is gone. Assad may be the best that can be done in the short run because of the neighbors, but the people who fought and defeated ISIS (with U.S. help) deserve a chance to live in freedom.

In God’s due time that will be fixed.

Erdogan the Islamist is the remaining source of Terrorists in Syria. He never intended to end ISIS he intended to take over most of Syria. The Kurds, Syriacs and Arabs who lived in Northern Syria were the ones who ended ISIS (with U.S. help).

“Return Constantinople to the West”

Yes, it’s on the European continent and should be returned to Bulgaria, especially since Erdogan has started the movement to establish a new Muslim caliphate with him as its head.

The city was the capital of the Roman/Byzantine Empire until 1453 AD (over a thousand years), when it was conquered by the Muslim Ottoman Empire. Since Erdogan has taken two provinces in Syria (reconquered), and refuses to return them to Syria, the world should takes Constantinople (Istanbul), and return it to Europe.

Can you imagine if the international community flapped their collective gums about the Kurds, whose issues are at least real rather than concocted, rather than the so-called Palestinians?

He said that Turkey did not wish to remain in the area for the long term and wanted to return it soon to the Syrian people.

Cyprus, anyone?

Of course. He dreams of the former Ottoman Empire. Maybe his blind spot is not knowing that the empire crumbled because it was inefficient, corrupt, inept, slow to adopt technologies in a rapidly evolving world, and because its leaders arrogantly assumed they could bully and defeat others by force.

It is very easy for Turkey to be a loud mouth agitator, to arm terrorists in Syria and Gaza, and even steal some foreign land while sitting behind the safety net of NATO membership. They should be dropped from NATO. Let him go play footsie with Putin and see how Russia will play Turkey and Syria against each other. And, how they get dropped from any plan to move oil or gas through Turkey into Europe.

What you described is certainly a possibility of how Putin would treat Erdogan.

The strategic place Turkey is, is likely why we have not acted against them in the past.

They take it for granted that we never will.
