Is he ill? I thought it was mocking and in bad taste to discuss anything to do with McCain dying.
We think Hanoi would be much more symbolic, Songbird
I have a deep and abiding disgust for how John McCain has acted as a politician.
There are those with quite a bit more knowledge than I (so I cannot comment directly) who believe that his military service record is not “all that it is cracked up to be” according to McCain and his backers.
I can say that I would not treat my wife the way McCain did his first wife.
Those 3 things being said, McCain is still a human being, a father and a grandfather. His family is at least entitled to have some decency - in the form of quiet, when praise cannot be given - while he is dying and in the aftermath of what is obvious will be his death in the next few weeks. I would ask all FReepers to do the following, in the name of simple decency:
If you cannot say something nice about McCain (and I, myself, really cannot), then please refrain from saying anything at all.
I’m sure that there are those (including some on this thread) who will take issue with that - but I simply ask all in this particular boat to ask yourselves if your mother would approve of what you have said, or want to say, WRT McCain.
That is all. Peace to everyone.
Fine. Let’s do it tomorrow.
. . . as well as honored relatives who have probably already turned over in their graves. Could also be pure embarrassment on his part.
......”Isnt it widely known that he was a worse Naval Officer and Aviator? Who only achieved what he did, due to his family name, his predecessors and their actual accomplishments?”.....
Yes.
Well, McCain was one of the very few Cold War aces: He got shot down in, burned up, crashed, ejected from or destroyed five enemy (er, US Navy) planes during his “career” flying his daddy’s and grandfather’s name.
I thought hed demand a plot at Arlington.
Why confuse or insult the cadets with the example of a reprobate like this at Annapolis?
Send the cadaver to Bethesda for dissections, so at least his corpse is of some benefit to the US military at last.
There will be so much dna there they won’t be able to pinpoint who did it.
Hey, check it out... McCain and Freepers finally agree on something! Wanting him laid to rest, that is. Where might be a topic of disagreement, but you start with what you can agree on.
Leave space for Lindsey Graham.
Mc Stain should be ground up and spewed across a pig farm in Canada where he would be quite at home.
good - as a (pardoned) war criminal he does not qualify for Arlington
Good I don’t want him at Arlington with my brother in law.
Feed him to pigs.
“I thought hed demand a plot at Arlington.”
Me too. This is actually worse. His military career is a serial litany of incompetence and collaboration with the enemy, his governmental career a steady stream of greed, malice and war crimes as policy. Worst example possible for cadets. Literally the worst example in American military history.
Very, very good post!! +1
