I have a young cousin (2nd cousin) who married young and immediately bought a house and new car... they ALWAYS taka a vacation and have the newest, latest, best electronic stuff (car, phones, TV’s etc.) BTW-MY car is a 2007 and gets around just fine.

They are always ‘struggling’ and borrow from their mom and uncles...

So what ever happened to saving until you could afford a thing/s?

Whenever I see them they have and their kids have everything new and the best! They deny themselves NOTHING!

Young people are totally CLUELESS.

Modern cars are amazing, the way they last so long! It used to be, if a car was ten years old it was considered ready to die. My daily driver is a 2001 truck, it's showing its age with fraying and rust spots but mechanically runs great. Asked my wife if we should buy a new car, she says "what for?". We can afford anything we want, debt-free and have a home and savings.

Meanwhile, young people we know are "struggling" while driving fancy cars. One young couple we know went into bankruptcy, their motto to us was "always go first class, enjoy life"; lots of fancy vacations in best hotels and flying first class and new cars every couple years, but a dicey future for them and their kids. P.S. - they tried borrowing money from us and others, we're smarter and said no. Yes, young people can be dumb.
