At least 170 buildings are being constructed at a 'mammoth' new tourist resort zone on North Koreas Wonsan Kalma peninsula...The full scale of the project being built at ultra-rapid pace by what appear to be thousands of soldier workers has to date not been revealed in official DPRK state media coverage....ground-level photos many reach ten floors high, suggesting resort capacity will be in the high thousands or low tens of thousands upon completion.
Calvin Chua, an expert in North Korean architecture, said that satellite imagery showed access to the sprawling facility appeared for now to be highly restricted.
The layout seems to suggest only a single entry point, he said. This would mean that the development is likely to have a regulated entry, perhaps a gated residential district or a resort.
The timelapse shows the emergence of scores of temporary shelters and facilities for workers at the facility, with satellite imagery showing such facilities surrounding three sides of the resort.
At major construction projects, North Korean soldiers are often drafted and housed in this way in temporary lodging adjacent to their location of work, something which ground-level KCTV footage confirmed in May.
But the pace of construction appears to also be being accelerated by stadium-style lighting erected

Well, thank God they’re building this resort...now I won’t have to suffer in such hideous and ill-equipped so-called resorts like Hawaii and the Cayman Islands. Thank you, Dear Leader!!!
Another sign of (maybe) progress:

We’ll see. So far Trump has played it right.
Little rocket maan world ...
I think he’s doing an extraordinary work with N. Korea......if it fails it won’t be because he hasn’t given it his all...
I don’t think it’s intended to compete with other resorts....likely this is needed in order to house the CEOS and BIG Investors when they begin work at getting the country brought into the this century. Likely China and Russia funding this project.
They haven’t even finished the ugly pyramidal hotel downtown.
Entirely different purpose......that monstrocity downtown is uninhabital.
I think President Trump has made some inroads, but I don’t believe this new building development is for real.
President Trump, in my view, has done more than anyone to make progress.
Regimes like this don’t just have Potemkin Villages, they have Potemkin Everything. I remember being on an Aeroflot flight and ordering a Coca-Cola. I received a plastic cup of green (as in mouthwash green) liquid. I politely said, no, I ordered a Coca-Cola. “That IS Coca-Cola.” Message received.
Again, even what’s happened so far is incredible.
Well if Rocket Man screws with Trump, this “Resort” will be half occupied by North Koreans paying 2 cents on the dollar that Western Business men, South Koreans, and Chinese would otherwise be paying. Good luck with that return on investment Rocket Man.
So long as they use American drywall...;-)
Wow. Tourism in North Korea?? No thanks!
Lil Kim says the NORKS might walk from the talk. The uber investment in this resort property tells Trump all he needs to know that Kim is spewing crap out of his mouth.

Sounds like they’re not doing much.
I think that Pennisula is right where Kim ‘lives’.....as is a lot of the development. Same with the airport they built.
They covered that tower with all kinds of light projections...but it is still an empty unfinished moldy broken down building inside that nobody lives in.
How much is a 3 bedroom condo?
Heck the tower is nearly as old as Kim Un!..began it in 1987..3,000 rooms and suppose to open to the public next summer - 24 or so years behind schedule. An inspection by a European delegation in the 90’s concluded that the shell was irreparable and it should be torn down because of its poor-quality concrete and crooked elevator shafts.......Esquire magazine described it as Âthe worst building in the history of mankindÂ. Others labeled it “the Hotel of Doom”..and the name stuck. However...just last year, its concrete was strengthened and its exterior coated in 111 âmillion worth of glass...by the Egyptian Orascom Group which took over as developer in 2008 Orascom installed the glass panels along with telecom antennae. You can read further here....especially about the journalist who snuck ‘inside’ the building.

I was talking about the new beach places.
