The original Ms. Marvel was Carol Danvers and was a great character back in the day.

So ... is she related to Supergirl's adoptive parents? (She is Linda Lee Danvers).

How does "Ms." Marvel meet up with the Avengers? Does her husband have to tag along? The stupidest thing D.C. ever did was to sue Fawcett over Captain Marvel, and not pay for the stupid name in the settlement, messing up the identity of one of the key comic book superheroes of the entire Golden Age. Mary Marvel could beat the snot out of Ms. Marvel, ask Georgia!

(I had no idea as a kid that Captain Marvel and later Ms. Marvel were riffs on the Fawcett characters.I just thought they were cool, in large part to Chris Claremont’s writing for Ms. M)
