I once saw a book of Hitler’s art and he was actually a very talented artist. But the one odd thing I noticed about his paintings was that he almost never had any people in them.
It was kind of eerie because he’d paint a downtown marketplace in the middle of the day and there’d be no people in it.
The line was from a Mel Brooks movie. It was one Jewish man’s small dig at “Hitler the art student”.
I’ve seen some of Hitler’s work. It’s functionally alright. The art school was correct (except for the weight of history) to turn him down. Hitler could have made an architectural illustrator, but he was no artist.
