Trump has the Constitutional authority to declassify and publicly release any document in the Executive branch of government.

Time and time again, Trump has called this investigation a “witch hunt.”

It is incomprehensible that he refuses to release documents that would prove his innocence.

Does he really believe that “national security” - as defined by the totally corrupt FBI and DOJ - is more important than the fact that the President of the United States has been forced to govern for 15 months under a cloud of alleged criminality?

More than likely he is being told that if he declassifies anything, he will be charged for obstruction of justice.

I’ve been pondering this myself and can only surmise that Nunes and Gowdy have yielded to Trump’s continuing to classify the evidence as a way of assisting the DOJ’s IG in their investigation.

That needs to be repeated time and time again. He controls the process, yet doesn't do a thing about it.

“It is incomprehensible that he refuses to release documents that would prove his innocence.”

It IS comprehensible if he’s waiting for certain things to fall in to place first.

Proving innocence is a logical impossibility. Even if you can prove that enemies planted false evidence of a crime, that does not prove there is an absence of honest evidence of the same crime.

Listen to Schiff and others - they are all "still looking," and if they haven;t found it yet, it's because Trump is blocking them. And Trump blocking them is evidence of guilt.

The press fuels this. Guilt by speculation.

So they consider a corrupt DOJ/FBI affects national security? Notifying American citizens of corruption affects national security. We are now a banana republic.

“...he refuses to release the documents...”

President Trump could very well be holding out as more and more of the swamp creatures are forced to the surface. President Trump knows all of it.

Sometimes I wonder I wonder if Trump is a fan of Columbo. Be patient, ask a few questions and wait till they convict themselves..............................

I am still holding out for the possibility that this will happen at some time before the November elections.

Rush has speculated that either Trump enjoys playing the victim.
Or that WH lawyers fear an obstruction of justice charge.
At some point Trump may have to step in.
