A former Fox News military analyst will not be booked on Fox Business again after saying that torture worked on Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.).
The network will not book Lt. Gen. Thomas McInerney again, a spokesperson confirmed to The Hill.
McInerney made the comment during an appearance on Fox Business to discuss President Trumps CIA director nominee Gina Haspel, who McCain has fiercely opposed over her work at a CIA black site prison.
"Sen. John McCain said he's not going to endorse Haspel also in part because she believes in torture, that she thinks it works, even though she laid out at least three instances where it did work to the benefit of humankind, not just Americans, but all human beings," McInerney said on the show.
"Well, she can't use it [torture] anymore because we have determined in Congress that it's not legal, he added. The fact is, is John McCain, it worked on John. That's why they call him 'Songbird John.
Charles Payne, the host of the show, apologized to McCain and his family and said that he did not hear the remark. I regret I did not catch this remark, as it should have been challenged, Payne said. As a proud military veteran and son of a Vietnam vet these words neither reflect my or the networks feelings about Senator McCain, or his remarkable service and sacrifice to this country.
McCain, who was forced to falsely confess to crimes after being tortured as a POW during the Vietnam War, has called for his colleagues in the Senate to reject Haspels nomination.
As I have argued many times, the methods we employ to keep our nation safe must be as right and just as the values we aspire to live up to and promote in the world, he said.

Ping!
New to change the name from Fox news to Scaredy Cat news.
Truth is a no-no.
Just so my personal opinion is known
Fox News can got to hell
I had a feeling that was going to happen. Not many military analysts left on Fox (though I don’t miss Ralph Peters).
They just can’t handle anyone that tells the truth! McLame is a freaking traitor and a Songbird! Gen McInerny is spot on!
Torture does work, Fox News just prevented the truth from getting out.
Tokyo Rose/Jane Fonda both synonymous.
Fox News is RINO News and John McCain exemplifies RINOism at its zenith.
And even more sadly Roger Ailes, a loyal servant of the GOP, also used Fox News to fulfill his sexual fantasies by emphasizing female anatomy on open news sets.
Needless to say there’s ratings in such a presentation but I still remember one day realizing how tight the dress was that Gretchen Carlson was wearing and saying to myself: “I’ve got to stop watching this”.
And you know, I don’t watch “Fox News” other than when my parents have it on when I visit with them.
There is nothing more offensive than the truth.
Wasnt it George Orwell, who said, in times of universal deceit, telling the truth, is a revolutionary act?
We downsized cable and I don’t get FOX anymore anyway. I watch it when I’m at the gym
Somebody claimed at Yahoo that Songbird McCain gave egress routes for wounded American aircraft to the NV. I have no idea about all that.
If anybody knows, please pass it along. Thanks.
Unlike Comcast, Newscorp has standards.
Regardless of the details, McCain was a POW. And FBN can’t be in the business of disparaging POWs regardless of McCain’s character.
“Regardless of the details, McCain was a POW. And FBN cant be in the business of disparaging POWs regardless of McCains character.”
Tom Mc Inerney is still right on the money! Sometimes the truth isn’t pretty!
The military have what is referred to as SERE schools. People who they deem as possible enemy capture candidates are sent to these training sights. They capture those people after sending them out on a little camping trip and put them through a life like enemy prisoner camp. My son was a sea air rescue swimmer USN. Survive, Evade, Resist, Escape. What they teach you is everyone has a breaking point. You resist all you can but eventually they can break you. They teach you how to try to hold and always try to escape. The guys that I know that went through this training hated it. But they learned a lot about themselves.
Charles Payne.....now theres another paragon of virtue
That General is 100 times the man Payne ever was
Tubby token
See signature line......
What lousy reporting.....Haspel never said she believed in torture.....she said they got information from using enhanced interrogation.....
That said...Fox is a bunch of cowards. McShamey did sing....
