"Oklahoma State Troopers Association lobbied against this bill. So did the OSBI, the agency that runs the gun safety courses and hands out permits."In Oklahoma, the OSBI makes money from gun safety courses. They are not about to shut down an income. The Oklahoma State Police is DEEPLY concerned about any erosion in their power to act like highway robbers. The OHP is notorious for writing "57 in a 55" tickets on I-40, I-35 and I-44. You have a hard time finding an OHP car off the Interstates.

"taken away the ability of the state's law enforcement personnel to distinguish between someone trained to use a firearm and someone who is not."
And who is going to determine if a citizen has enough training? The OSBI? Sounds like Oklahoma has a bunch of control fascists running Law enforcement throughout the state.
