That is some really disturbing thinking.

You can’t confirm any of what you have read and yet you are going to give this document to the most powerful police organization in the land. A law enforcement organization that can literally destroy a person’s life for no reason.

So’ to McCain this makes sense "The seriousness of the charge mandates that we investigate this." "Even though there is no evidence, the seriousness of the charge is what matters."

Agreed. I would have expected that he would have made reasonable attempts to understand the origin of the dossier and why he of all stool pigeons flying around the Senate was chosen as the one to carry it to the FBI.
