It is the person and not the disease. My father died of this horrible cancer and he possessed none of the vile traits of John McCain.(Thank God)
Maybe it’s a bit like alcohol; it brings out the real person lying beneath the facade when sober.
If so, that’s a shame, I really wanted to like that guy. He’s gone now so it doesn’t matter but he did disappoint his closest friends.
