This is remarkably similar to a recent hoax in Canada - but it is a separate case - from Virginia USA.
This keeps happening, because the hoaxers are either not prosecuted or when they are, they are given a slap on the wrist, and let go. If they started prosecuting them for the crime of filing a false police report, and add “hate crime” to that charge. Make the hoaxers pay a heavy price, and most of this would stop.
We should always believe the victim when it comes to rape or hate crimes.
Absolutely we should! If it turns out that they are lying, then we should blame ourselves. They must be very damaged, due to something we said.

There was just a case exactly like this in houston...unknown white assailants got into a driving argument with a muslim lady and they attacked her with a knife resulting in a small defensive wound on her arm... itsas all over the news... as she reenacted the story you could see that the knofe cut lined up exactly with her left hand as she sge spoke... struck me as odd

Right. Fabricating an offense should bear the exact same punishment as the offense fabricated.
The exact same penalty that an innocent man would have paid for this imagined crime. No exceptions! Jail time!
