Former First Lady Michelle Obama Is Tired of Men 'Failing Their Way to Success'
Marie Claire ^ | May 9, 2018 2:31 pm | Jenny Proudfoot

During the recent United State of Women Summit in LA, Michelle got very real with actress Tracee Ellis Ross, explaining why we need a shake up in the work place – and it could be the most inspiring thing you’ll see today.

‘I wish that girls could fail as bad as men do and be OK,’ she explained. ’Because let me tell you, watching men fail up – it is frustrating. It’s frustrating to see a lot of men blow it and win. And we hold ourselves to these crazy, crazy standards.’

Going on to call for change, Michelle explained: ‘What I’ve been telling men is, you can’t have it both ways: You can’t whisper these magical thoughts in your daughter’s ear about who she can be or what she can do….’

She continued: ‘If you’re tolerating [inequality at work], that is the workplace that’s going to be waiting for your little girl, but you sold her a bill of goods. You told her she could be anything, but then you’re not working to make sure that can be actualised. And so men have to understand things don’t just work out for your little precious pea.’

We watched two men fail upwards and get away with it since 2007.

You and Barack.

Barack O. was elected president of the Harvard Law Review without writing any articles. He went on to the U.S. presidency as a first-term senator who hadn’t introduced any significant legislation. Yes, some people can fail their way to success.

So, failing and trying again by doing things differently is sexist?

Actually, according to “experts” like the person who “Men are from mars, women are from Venus”. That is the exact problem. Men see a problem as something to be fixed. Women see it as a thing to be shared.

She looks like she is “brown-capping” in that photo. Just sayin....

I refer to that as "crowning".

She’s obviously talking about her husband, Bath House Barry. He’s a living breathing example of failing “up” and why affirmative action quotas can lead to disastrous consequences.

But “failing up” also applies to Chewbacca. Most of the good things she was handed in life were because she’s a leftist black woman. She earned virtually nothing based on color-blind merit and exceptional performance.

So, women don’t fail “up”?

Has Michael ever heard of Hillary Clinton?

To be honest, being the “beard” for the first gay President isn’t really an accomplishment, Michael.

I was told by a University of Chicago Law School graduate that Barak Obama is also the only professor or instructor in the history of the University of Chicago Law School to have never published an article in a scholarly legal journal.

And I’m tired of a certain group of very bossy, very entitled, and very ungrateful people affirmative-actioning their way to success.

Remind you of anyone, Mike?

“watching men fail up – it is frustrating”

Michelle is confusing failing one’s way to success with promotion to the level of incompetence.

The first is how business success works in the free markets. You try something. You learn from mistakes and failures, and then you try again until it works.

The latter is how government operates. Government is not profit-seeking like businesses are. This results in ever-increasing budgets and self-congratulatory self-assessments no matter how big the failure. In order to get rid of the most incompetent people, they get promoted.

There is no difference between men and women in this regard.
