Thank you!
I moved to southern Indiana 6 months ago. Labor unions are turning red down here big time. (Well members anyway. ) Coal, aluminum and prolife are really big down here. Trump has put many Hoosiers back to work and I have met many former democrats that will never forget the damage Obama along with fellow liberals did and will never vote democrat again. The political landscape across the entire Midwest is changing. I just hope we have it in us to embrace an awakening group, open even more eyes and prevent the rhinos from derailing this train.
Thanks for the perspective!
Great a outsider better than 2 weak Congressmen.
Absolutely
Welcome to southern Indiana! :)
Exactly! I didn’t really know who to vote for. We had ads running basically saying they all were bad in the same ad. You’re left going WTH? Who I voted for didn’t win but he’ll get my vote come November. Hopefully he keeps his mouth shut and doesn’t give the dems ammo to shoot himself in the foot like Murdoch.
I presume he’s talking about the city of Jasper (although Jasper has a GOP Mayor at present), but DuBois County, which Jasper is located in, has been a GOP County at the Presidential level for years (last voted Dem in 1976) and hasn’t voted Dem for Governor since 2000.
This was posts on another site:
(Braiun’s home county is)Dubois Co. just northeast of Evansville in SW Indiana.
Dubois Co. was totally controlled by Democrats and Braun took Democrat ballots in primaries to have a say in who ran the county, as the person who won the Democrat primary was going to win the general. (I’ve done the same here in Lake Co in the past for the same reason. More recently I’ve been taking Republican ballots because my home town has gone solidly Republican so that primary pretty much decides who holds town offices.)
In 2014 he and some other Conservative Republicans decided to run and they flipped the county. Braun was elected to the Indiana House. He resigned to run for this Senate seat.
For someone (like myself) who is relatively new to the Indiana scene, it seemed like 3 poor candidates. It really was a toss up! I have to say, though, I trust the people of Indiana. They know who they are. And from what I can tell, they are actually FRIENDS with people on the other side of the political divide. They don’t let differences in ideology get in the way of meaningful relationships.
God knew I needed to live in Indiana and experience the people and the places here long before I did. I love my new home. In so many ways, it feels like I finally AM home. I am grateful and thankful for Hoosier-land!
Ok, so you are probably the closest to the guy that I can ask without asking the man himself. In some of those ads, Braun is alleged to have voted for both Obama and Hillary for president. Is this true? Because for me, that shows serious problems.
But, but, but ... ALL of the Washington experts claim we must depose Trump, impeach Trump, and run, run, run as quickly as possible in the other direction!
Kind of proves lie to the claim he voted for Hillary now doesn't it?
Trump was a Dem at one point. So was Reagan. You voted against them because of it?
Trump was a Demcorat at one time. So was Reagan. You voted against them because of it?
“I voted for Braun, He lives in Jasper, Indiana...an hour from where I live. He is a friend of a very good friend of mine. He is the real deal, from what I have seen. Solid pick!”
That is good to hear. Thank you for the report.
The Swamp only wants more Swamp Monsters.
We have to drain the Swamp.
No more Flakes, Rubios, Grahams, McCains, etc.
We have just FOUR Senators that side with the citizens and the rule of law.
I hope our candidates have figured out for this cycle that there’s nothing to be gained from a post-primary victory tour across mainstream media. Just go on Fox, talk radio and lay low until closer to the general election.
I had the same dilemma. I didn’t know who I was going to vote for until I went into the booth.
I don’t vote for people based on their party affiliation. I was wondering if Braun had said it publicly, because, as you said, no one knows who someone else votes for, unless they blab about it.
I can understand why some people voted for Obama the first time around. The MSM didn’t let anyone know the real Obama. Anyone who voted for Obama twice clearly has their head on backwards. Same for one vote for Hillary.
"particularly because Braun has criticized other candidates for backing free trade agreements".
He's a Patriot!
