Well except in calibfornia where even garden hoses are “known to cause cancer”. Shovels too.

Well I'm a dead man then, I loved nothing better than to drink out of a garden hose when I was a kid, on a hot summer day.

The smart ones let the water run to cold before they drank. You only have to worry about the lead poisoning if you drink it without it flushing what's in the hose out first. Well, lead poisoning and third-degree burns from water sitting in the hose in the sun...

My grandparents had some lead solder in their pipes in their old house. They always told me to run the tap till it got cold, then it was good to go for drinking, same with the hose.
