A former Minneapolis police officer who shot and killed an Australian woman last summer after she called 911 to report a possible assault is scheduled to appear in court.
Mohamed Noor is charged with third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter in the July 15 killing of Justine Ruszczyk Damond.
An omnibus hearing will be held Tuesday in Hennepin County ....
Prosecutors say Noor was in a squad car's passenger seat when he shot Damond through the open driver's side window after she approached the vehicle.
Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman has said there is no evidence that Noor encountered a threat that justified using deadly force.

Gee, just think.
Back in 1993 muslim terrorists were killing Americans in Mogadishu (Black Hawk Down) .
Now, only 25 years later, their spawn are here, killing people in America.
We can thank democrats and RINOs for that kind of 'progress'.

Sessions has to know that WE know.
UPDATE...
Hearing lasted less than 5 minutes. No plea entered.
Possibility of a plea deal?
I am not a LEO but ccw all the time. I suspect if he were my partner and drew is weapon and shot in front of me while in the patrol car, I would be disciplined for beating the crap out of him until my ears stopped ringing.
And in news that didn’t go national, a Somali family in San Diego was blamed for a house fire caused by using a hibachi over a wooden floor.
Thanks.......guess the stupids thought they were in a hut in their ****hole homeland.
> Noor was in a squad car’s passenger seat when he shot Damond through the open driver’s side window <
I still can’t get over that. Noor’s shot passed right in front of his partner.
> when it goes to trial there is only one charge, is that right? <
I’m not a lawyer, and I don’t play one on TV. But I think that’s up to the DA. You can charge the defendant with multiple charges. It’s sort of like hedging your bet.
If you only charge him with the more serious charge, the jury might think that’s too much of a reach. And then the verdict is “not guilty”. So the lesser charge gives the jury another way to convict.
The risk is that the jury might go for the lesser charge when they would have gone with the more serious charge if it was there alone.
Anyway, I think that’s how it works.
I know you're right.
It's is just maddingly frustrating to see so much corruption and Swamp business still going on while time flies by and Sessions does nothing of consequence.
Effectively he is working for the Dark Side by standing idly by.
The only time we have seen him move quickly as AG was when he jumped to recuse himself less than 4 weeks after being sworn in.
I still cant get over that. Noors shot passed right in front of his partner.
It sure appears that he was eager to shut Damond up quickly, doesn't it?
The rag doesn’t use the word “m*slim” or “s*mali.” This is deliberate.
The murderer is going to get the best lawyers to defend it. The innocent Australian was murdered, and the politicians show their hatred for her by defending the murderer.
Noor murdered Damond. Clear? In cold blood. Clear?
Perhaps we’ll finally find out what his partner has to say about it. I think it is extremely interesting how little interest there has been in his testimony.
Interesting that even Black Lives Matter wants to see this guy in jail. Even in uber leftist Minneapolis, this incident caused the downfall of the lesbian, Native American police chief. The Aussies are also following this case closely and Id expect some very negative impacts on US Australia relations if this Somali Muslim walks.
I would imagine it’s both, so the jury could find guilty of 3rd degree, but innocent of 2nd degree.
That was (if I remember correctly) A problem with the San Francisco homeless illegal murdering a young lady in San Fransicko, in that they didn’t apparently account for a lesser charge, so it was all-or-nothing.
I will not be satisfied until he receives the same sentence he gave to Justine. He is but another affirmative action hire who had no business as a police officer. The people who hired him should also face consequences but we all know they will not.
JoMa
I think you would be entirely justified. I can't imagine his partner was thrilled with his reckless and deadly behavior.
I read elsewhere that Somali Noor had a couple excessive force complaints pending when the shooting occurred? And all it took for him to "qualify" for his position in law enforcement was a two year degree in hotel management? Oh, and being a special minority might have helped him along as well?
