I love this judge. He may not dismiss the case, but he is exposing what Mueller is up to.

I will read the whole thing but I haven’t seen this is the media even on FOX:

“Special Counsel Mueller appears to argue that Rosenstein gave secret authority to go after Manafort on his old business dealings in apparently oral “interactions” with Mueller back in May, before the raid on Manafort’s home. How convenient.”

so they wrote down the scope in May..but shorty after that secretly amended it with “oral interactions”...then wrote those down on paper after the raid in a new “scope memo” in August

this must be why the Judge called them liars......the media needs to explain why the judge thought that way

I would not want to try and BS this judge.

I'm not a lawyer, either...but I've testified enough in proceedings and actual trials, that I learned very quickly that a good judge has a running memory.

By that I mean that he can keep several paragraphs running in his head, whereas the usual trial attorney or person testifying can only run several sentences.

I've seen judges that could hold nearly a full page of transcript in their heads at one time.

Hard to explain, but suffice to say, this judge has got his doo-doo in one bag, tied tight.

I think we will see something dramatic come from this.

I wondered that too but believe it’s because Sessions recused re Russia + election - so RR is acting in those regards ... But when retroactively tied back to 2005 Ukraine things, how + where does he derive that authority, it was Sessions’s authority that RR and the Mule thus breached.

There is always an ‘Acting’ AG. If the AG is unavailable for any reason whatsoever, the DAG or whoever else is next in line has full AG authority.

Most of what people believe are duties of the AG are actually duties of the DAG:

He sure is wily.

Judge Ellis pointedly said to attorney Dreeben, what you’re basically saying is, “we issued these internal things but don’t expect us to be bound by them.”

Dreeben had no choice but to admit that they don’t have to honor DOJ regs because they’re not statutes.

Well then, why have regulations?

It seems the purpose is to bamboozle the American people into complacency, just as Dreeben tried his best to bamboozle Judge Ellis, who politely told him ‘that’s helpful, but you didn’t answer my question.”

Well, okay. However, Mueller is beyond scope and using other people coloring books for his artistic expression...

read the whole thing to sum up:

Muellers team admitted for the first time the bank fraud stuff didn’t arise from their investigation. Judge says that doesn’t fall under the written statue then.

Mueller team response summary : That’s what was written down but thats not what we have to follow.

what a joke

It was in the court proceeding. Since Sessions has recused, Rosenstein is the acting AG. The very perceptive judge asked (rheotically) why Rosenstein did not recused.

Thanks for posting this. Nothing much to add to all the good comments except that I thought it was interesting that the judge dropped the name Archie cox. In doing So imho the judge is telegraphing that he is going to hold an honest hearing and that the prosecutors had better give their honest best. But It seems to me that that they are not giving their best. Also at the same time it might serve as a warning for trump not to fire mueller although trump is professing that he will not do that. I have also never seen a judge speculate in open court that a case might last beyond him and comment out loud about how much budget that the prosecutor has in a specific round dollar amount. I Don’t know how it will go but in a perfect world, imho the prosecution should have considerable difficulty prevailing due to the judges skepticism.
