The Trump administration will require 57,000 Honduran people to return to their home country, after having lived in the U.S. with protected status since a 1999 hurricane, according to a report Friday morning.
Approximately 300,000 people have been approved for TPS since Congress created the program in 1990. Hondurans are the second-largest national group of people who benefit from TPS.
Hondurans were permitted to move to the U.S. under the program after Hurricane Mitch destroyed parts of the country in 1999.

LOL!
In the meantime, we have a thousand Hondurans climbing over our border fence, claiming to be “refugees.”
Day-o. Day-ay-ay-o. Trumpie come and me gotta go home.
Dangit - I nearly spilled wine over my keyboard! Too funny.
We know they just want to stay here...can’t you hear they’ve paid tax’s and worked hard and just want their kids to have an education?
No, they didn't. There was never any way to adjust the immigration status for TPS. From day one, temporary has always meant temporary.
It is unfortunate that these people were led to believe by the leaders of both parties that they could remain here without question, build lives and families, and the day of recking would never arrive. Fortunately, they can serve as a lesson to other TPS residents that temporary indeed means temporary and now is a good time to make the necessary plans to return home.
Buh bye...
It’s all about the left and Globalista putting 3rd world populations into Western nations. They could give a rats butt what it does to our nation or what it does to our safety and homes.
You can bet every nationality here will be hitting the street with them in protests claiming they all have the ‘right’ to be here.
An’ he bite!
That’s surely not how they’re going to see it, even though they ‘ALL know’ they have had ‘temporary” status. And their activists had failed at a Path toward Citizenship which they tried for.
Glad it wasn’t Calvados. I’m afraid the cold in Normandy will hurt this year’s vintage.
....”It is unfortunate that these people were led to believe”....
Well I’ve been ‘led to believe’ various thing in my life and had to pick myself up and start over again. If the lily pad is pulled out from underneath you you better well start swimming fast! I never went into the street to protest that I had rites I never had nor owed.
If it’s not a s***-hole country, what’s the problem?
Well Syria certainly isn’t stable which is why I would imagine.
Yes he has indeed.....and frankly would not be this far were it not for what Sessions is ‘fighting’ to get this far on the ‘immigration war’. There’s more than one front our good men are fighting to be sure!
Do you think they’ll go peacefully into the night?
Yes I took note of that....another extension after decades of them already. The idea is time to pack up and return home to your country.
But you know they will claim they have no home there anymore....where will they go and on and on. We’ve heard it all a gazillion times.
Perhaps had these people remained in their country and cleaned up the mess themselves they would have found things better than they expected.....but they never seem to think about “improving’ their own surroundings in their own country!
Let me just say I moved into a rather downtrodened neighborhood one time.....I painted the outside concrete stirs and landing, put down a carpet runner, sat out some new white plastic porch chairs and lined the stairs with red potted geraniums. ............it was but two weeks and the neighbors across the street went into gear likewise who said I had given them the incentive.....then other neighbors did likewise.
I think you get my drift........you can do a whole lot with very little costs. I just added to it every paycheck..
They can go with smiles to return home, tears, dragged kicking and screaming, even in body bags for all I care. Not our problem.
BTW the landlord was so impressed with how it all looked he hired men to paint the entire building!
Unfortunately I do feel the same.....all these people don’t realize we’re just sick and tired of their protests, their illegality of being here, and how they conduct themselves now. ..........and they can truly stop waving their country flag on my soil!
