The only airline workers more pro-Union militant than United (based in San Francisco) is the old Northwest Airline out of Minneapolis.
I sat on the ground for 4 hrs in Minneapolis while Union ground crews sat on the butts waiting for an approved person to fix a minor problem.
Then the pilots, walked off the plane, didn’t bother to tell anyone and we waited for another 2 hrs while they found a replacement crew.
Thank god NWA is gone!
Northwest Orient Airlines is gone? I guess I’m behind the times. I don’t fly very often don’t pay attention to all the companies.

Sorry, but United is based in Chicago. They do have a major maintenance facility at SFO (my son worked there as an engineer for about 3 months before deciding it was a hopeless place, then quit). The IAM workers there were all POS! When they had a “grievance.” they dropped tools on the shop floor all day until management capitulated to whatever pissant demand they had.
