The Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has voted to expel actor Bill Cosby and director Roman Polanksi from its membership ranks. The move comes a week after Cosby was convicted of three counts of aggravated indecent assault brought against him by Andrea Constand, and after disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein was first expelled from the organization last year.
Polanski has been on the lam for 40 years, ever since fleeing the country while awaiting sentencing for statutory rape in 1978.
The decision to remove Cosby and Polanski from the membership was made Tuesday, May 1 at a scheduled board meeting.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Board of Governors met on Tuesday night (May 1) and has voted to expel actor Bill Cosby and director Roman Polanski from its membership in accordance with the organization’s Standards of Conduct. The Board continues to encourage ethical standards that require members to uphold the Academy’s values of respect for human dignity.

Polanski hasn’t voted in decades I’m guessing. This means nothing really.
But are they going to rescind the Academy Awards given to Roman Polanski?

Strange. Obviously, their policy or consensus was to wait until someone is actually convicted. So that makes sense re Cosby. But then someone in the back of the room mentioned that Polanski was convicted of raping a child in every orifice he could find, 30 years ago.
Whoops.
They have feted him a zillion times since them.
NOW WE GIVE A SHOOT. Before, all that was A-ok, just no dead girls or live boys, people, we run a classy industry here.

Meryl Streep is going to flip her wig. Roman is one of her Pals! They go way back.
More than a decade.
It seems they only pretend to care now that the Times Up and Me Too movements are getting so much attention. The fact that they took that long to expel Polanski proves they are all hypocrites.
It just goes to show that they did not want to eject Polanski but felt they had to do it in order to avoid being charged with hypocrisy when they ejected Cosby.
Wake me when they kick out Woody Allen.

Polanski drugged and raped a 13 year old girl in 1977 and then ran off to Europe to avoid prison in the US.
Then BAM! Just like that, only 41 years later, he gets tossed out of The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences.
These people are not to be trifled with!
