IMHO President Trump is quite well aware of his phones being “tapped”. I doubt there would be much on them. Remember his conversations with the President of Mexico and Australia being released to the media.

What I find sad is Trump is actually doing some REAL good, not just for our country, but the world. We’ve had some really bad presidents historically, so I have been impressed with some of the stuff Trump has been making progress on. But this is all about people being bitter Clinton lost. The things that have gone on at the point just look outrageous to me.

They’re just keeping the ‘pressure’ on Trump because that’s the tool they’re using to get the public sick and tired of dealing with him sufficient that he will either not run again or the public will not vote for him again or both.

Further it ties everyone up covering attorney fees etc so nothing gets done.

Probably more unnamed sources, but Mueller has appeared to be on offense since the beginning of this year. Meanwhile, sleepy Jeff Sessions continues to wait for an IG report that continues to be delayed and doesn't have the force of law on its own, anyway.

Is Trump the most vetted world leader in history?

I think it is likely that Trump and most if not all of his associates have had all cell and electronic communication illegally intercepted and analyzed since before the election.

And all things negative about Trump have somehow been leaked.

And though he wasn’t my first choice because I thought he might have ethical issues, he is probably one of the few people who could withstand such intensive and illegal surveillance for such a prolonged period of time.

I do believe Mueller has zeroed in on the Stormy-Trump-Cohen matter, and intends to prepare charges. What will be interesting is the timing of events. The alleged affair was in 2006. The payoff was in 2017. The reimbursement was in 2018?

The reason the "timing" is important is because Trump was a candidate when the payoff was made, and possibly a sitting president when the reimbursement was made.

He will attempt to file Obstruction charges, alleging Comey was fired because he (Comey) would have been investigating this matter rather than Mueller, had Trump not fired Comey.

All it takes is a charismatic leader to call for 4 million citizen militiamen to put a screeching halt to this BS, and withdraw consent to be governed by Washington.

All of this turmoil is related to the soon to be released OIG report. This is all about causing a distraction from what promises to be an explosive report criticizing the FBI.

Isn't this the same arrogant ploy used to scam the FISA Court with the Steele memorandum?

Mueller obviously used some scurrilous detail from his plundering of Michael Cohen's private Trump files and convinced some Democrat judge to underwrite this quasi-legal wiretap.

The greatest irony in this whole stinking situation is the knowledge that President Trump's very own Department of Justice is taking salacious pleasure in nailing him to the cross.

Some serious push back is required--immediately and with great legal force.

“longtime personal lawyer for President Donald Trump who is under investigation for a payment he made to an adult film star”

Someone explain to me how this is illegal.

Jesus...our intelligence agencies were wiretapping and spying on the President? It was bad enough when they were spying on journalists and Congressional computers.

This sedition needs to end hard. The FBI must be disbanded...period.

the longtime personal lawyer for President Donald Trump who is under investigation for a payment he made to an adult film star who alleged she had an affair with Trump, according to two people with knowledge of the legal proceedings involving Cohen

What exactly is illegal about paying a litigant to go away in cases like these? It happens every day. Supermarkets pay slip and fall scammers to go away, politicians pay women to keep quiet, etc.

Now if Cohen had paid out of his own pocket, without reimbursement, then it *might* be construed as a "gift" which requires gift taxes to be paid. Or, given the timing, it could have been construed as a campaign "in kind" donation... which could break the law (ask Dinesh D'Souza about that).

But, Rudy tells us that Trump ultimately reimbursed Cohen, therefore is wasn't a gift or campaign donation at all. It was perfectly legal and routine.
