I see your point. It would take years to recover and hopefully your gas would last that long.
It would be a horrendous situation. The worst part would be dealing with the political correct, unprepared idiots who have no common sense.
The whole thing reminds me of arguments I had with friends in high school back in 1971. They would say things like, “what are you going to do if the government doesn’t honor your U.S. Savings Bond.” My response was that if we find ourselves in an environment where they are not honoring savings bond’s that is going to be the least of your problems.
