Did Trump use campaign funds to replenish? I don’t think so.Stormy's lawyer is going to claim that even if Trump paid for it with his own money, it was still campaign money because it was an attempt to avoid a scandal. Sounds dumb to me but I'm not a lawyer.

What is avoided is a "campaign finance violation." The law limits how much money others can give to a campaign, not how much the candidate can give to his own campaign.
