But why should they have cared...
...given Trump’s certain looming defeat and the fact that Andrew McCabe was somehow involved or would be involved in running, or rather massaging, the investigation?
Their only real danger might have been telling the truth to FBI investigators: that both they and Hillary had known precisely what she was doing. For telling the truth, both Mills and Abedin would soon have faced career-ending payback from a President Clinton.
Our ace in the hole is the arrogance of these deep state criminals... and how easy it's been picking up their droppings.
Every election we have is "The Most Important One of Our Lifetime" "Get Out and Vote, or SUFFER the CONSEQUENCES", etc. Insert your own hyperbole.
However, 2016 might have been just that. I'm not sure that America would have recovered from a Clinton presidency. We'll not know for another generation or so, if at all. Or, it's possible that Pres Trump just slowed the downward slide for a few years.
But I think that 2016 will be looked at by historians as a major shift in US politics, and what we're seeing now is the death throes of the establishment that came to power after Reagan.
Her "deplorable" quote was on FR yesterday. It's important to remember that - in the same quote - she called us "irredeemable" as well.
