Let’s have a Congressional apartment building, paid for by us taxpayers, for them to live in. It might even be like a college dorm with food service available. But let’s provide them a place to.live, if some of them really can’t afford Washington housing costs.
And deduct rent from their Congressional paychecks every payday.

The problem with that is there would be too many groups constantly trying to make/break laws during their down time or cause group think on issues. Keep ‘em apart during non working hours.
Another idea is that each state is responsible for the accommodations of it members, and is funded by the state, not the Fed.
That way, the Congress can’t vote themselves better benefits...
Personally, I think this should be the case for all of the benefits of Congressional members. Make them individual state responsibilities, not Federal.
The current UN occupied building would be ideal.
