NEVER in the history of the British/American relationship has our government threatened to BAN any of your elected officials, because unlike you we respect your citizen’s choice as to who represents you.
Your government not only insulted OUR choice but then made a ridiculous show of debate on the world stage. Your government offended the average American who supports Donald Trump as OUR choice to represent our country. OUR choice not your politician’s choice.
Presidents HAVE travelled to the UK, a practice that I hope will end very soon.

You did besmirch the entire nation. You also made comments about Britain always standing with the opposition against the US, ignoring the fact we stood ‘shoulder to shoulder’ with you in Afghanistan and Iraq and spilt blood in those warsV- Amongst others.
If you’d rather the President just to stay in America, fair enough, but if he was only to visit ‘friendly’ countries - he’d have an exceptionally small travel list!
As for going on about our politicians and government, what part of “And you won’t find me defending our politicians either” don’t you understand? Why are you babbling on about our government when I have already stated that I won’t defend them? I despise them all a lot more than you could ever imagine.
I didn’t judge America because Obama threw us to the ‘back of the bus’ and interfered in our referendum.
Maybe you think the political class represent the masses and that we should judge each country on that basis, and if you do, you’ve ignored your own Presidents messaging.
As for calling you moronic - I don’t know how well educated or well travelled you are, but your line of reasoning sadly paints a very bleak picture of that. I have met many great people on FR, rock solid American loving patriots and the overwhelming consensus is a love for the UK. In fact I get private message from people all the time.
I don’t like people insulting my country, a country that has given the world so so much, and I would have thought we share that in common.
Generally speaking, Brits love Americans and Americans love the Brits. That isn’t gonna change even if you want to sit there being a hater. On that basis, I can sleep very well.
