"How or why some of our fellow FReepers will have a problem with this is beyond me. "

I doubt many Freepers begrudge Israel's right to self defense and taking preemptive actions against Iran. What some of us do not want to see is American treasure thrown away needlessly in a fight that maybe not ours. That is the debatable question.

I don’t want to become embroiled in another mid-east conflict either. However, Iran could not have made their intentions to harm us (they did in Iraq) and Israel any clearer. We can either deal with it now or deal with it later after they use a nuclear weapon(s) against us or Israel. They have stated their intentions very clearly. The path is now clear for Israel to target their #1 aggressor - Iran. Much of the Arab world will cheer.

Is it dangerous because of the reaction it may bring? Yes. Is it more dangerous to kick the can again with diplomacy and aircraft full of cash? Yes.

We can argue our involvement and boots on the ground and likely agree that we do not want that, but the biggest threat in the Middle East is Iran and if they are not dealt with there will be a nuclear arms race in the Middle East. If it were up to me we would not only tear up the agreement with Iran..... we would destroy their military as we should have when they supplied IED’s to target our soldiers in Iraq. There is always risks, but I have NO doubt in my mind that there is one state in the world that would use nuclear weapons almost immediately - Iran.

This Neville Chamberlain agreement for “peace in our time” that the EU and last administration entered into is a farce. Confront them now before they obtain nuclear weapons.
