Yep. The Iranians wanted in Syria to get to Israel. If they were to damage Israel with their more advanced weapons, it would really increase their gravitas in the Arab world. Everyone knows Hezbollah doesn’t have cruise missiles or advanced rockets. They can barely work an AK. Most of the people using MANPADS are actually foreigners.

Unfortunately for Iran, getting close enough to get Israel, means that they are close enough for Israel to get them. Indeed, it makes it necessary for Israel to get them.
I am guessing that the Iranian regime is in for a rude awakening this Summer. They have accumulated some some rich and powerful enemies.
