“Some say that we are terminating facilities that are not functioning, but you will see that they are in good condition,” Yoon quoted Kim as saying.”

No doubt, however the other 75% is most likely destroyed.

As the site may have been rendered unusable through the consequences of repeated underground testing, this may simply be a way for them to get something for what they were going to do anyway.

There is no nuke test site left.
It collapsed in on itself and is leaking radiation.

This so abjectly laughable it doesn’t even have the dignity to deserve a comment

Perhaps the Delta Force sneaked in there in the dead of night and imploded it.

It's China's Xi wanting this as the now radio active site is way to close to China and Russia...Boo Hoo!

They reported when it collapsed...At least 100 workers excavating were crushed, and another 100 were killed in a second collapse......

So now they want this cleaned up before the radioactive seepage gets to their countries!

Looks like China and Russia have their pants in a knot about the radio active seepage too close to their countries.

Heck Chinese scientists said 6 months ago ‘they’ feared that the site would collapse completely, releasing radiation. So suddenly we have Kim ready to “play” de-nuclearizing after he's created a nuclear mess China doesn't want to handle.

“It collapsed in on itself and is leaking radiation.”

And too close to China. I see their thumb print on this one.

Trump tonight “Peace through strength”. Nice to see that thought process back.

Even nicer to see someone who is negotiating for the American people. We had 8 years of being lead by the enemy.

Punggye-ri has been the site of all six of North Korea’s nuclear weapons tests. .........The most recent test, carried out underground on Sept. 3, caused a 6.3-magnitude earthquake....... Analysis of the seismic data suggested that the explosion’s yield was as high as 250 kilotons, almost 17 times that of the bomb dropped on Hiroshima.

Any damage to Mount Mantap could lead to radioactive dust escaping through cracks or holes, a big problem for North Korea and neighbors such as China, ..

We know how the Asians handle Nuclear issues.......

Probably before Trump-Kim summit to maximize PR effect. It will fool many people here, too, if the recent outburst of euphoria at FR is any indication.

Theory:

DPRK’s Punggye-ri Test Site is dangerously full of radioactive material, & one more collapse may expose this to the atmosphere, causing potential harm to the region, & serious diplomatic harm to N.Korea Their renewed cooperation with S.K ‘may be’ an attempt to mitigate this.
