Trump really screwed up with his Sessions appointment.
The DOJ is the political brain and nervous system of the US Government. An absolute ally and faithful political partner must be appointed, to at minimum, protect the President from obvious political attacks from within his own government, of the type Mueller has organized.
JFK appointed his brother, Clinton had Reno, Reagan had Meese and Obama had faithful (and black) fellow-travellers Holder and Lynch, who even organized domestic political-agitation campaigns for him.
Trump appointed the Deep State Mr. Magoo. FAIL.
Could Jeff be Trump’s failsafe, allowing Donald to “say” he wants to “drain the outhouse” while Jeffrey stomps his foot and says no? You know, good Trump, bad Jeff. Meanwhile, the country has no equal justice.
Did you honestly know Sessions was Swamp prior to his recusal? Hindsight is 20/20. When I first heard that Sessions was the AG pick, I had no idea whatsoever that Trump had just committed the biggest blunder of his term.

Yes he certainly did, but I am sure that Trump wanted to reward what he thought was loyalty. I often thought how “courageous” Jeff Sessions was to stand by Trump and just assumed that Sessions was catching a lot of heat from the establishment for not supporting Rubio or Jeb.
Who would guess that Sessions would be such a two-faced, back stabbing scoundrel? The thought never crossed my mind and probably not Trumps either.
