The difference between God and man is that God never thinks He is us....
Romans 1:24-28
24 Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves,
25 because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed for ever! Amen.
26 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. Their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural,
27 and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in their own persons the due penalty for their error.
28 And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a base mind and to improper conduct.
Baptist ping
Uhhhhh....no. The SBC is one of the few holding the Biblical line on this issue.
Yeah,
That’t the ticket.
To hell with morality.
Freaks.
Yeah that's not gonna happen.
You must be talking about the FReepers who attended parody “weddings” of two men and were proud of it. Disgusting.
Only for salvation, however we are commanded to live holy, pure lives pleasing to God, which, yes, means avoiding sin.
And giving a list of sin was GOD'S idea so you'll need to take that up with Him.
FIA= Faggots In America?
Goes FARTHER back. I’m not gonna ask you to go to the archives but all the fag marriage threads, you’ll be surprised at the same Freepers you see here, making arguments that it’s “normal”.
The SBC churches which have caved to Sodom are routinely disfellowshipped. This has happened with at least 3 that I know of, one in my own city.
But the softening is present, though subtle. In 2011, SBC president met with rabid activist homosexuals demanding just this at the SBC convention in Phoenix. The fact that the meeting even happened is unconscionable. The sodomites aren’t going to soften, but they deem a place at the table a massive victory.
Baptists don’t have a “sin list”. What the SBC generally believes can be found in the Baptist Faith and Message:
http://www.sbc.net/bfm2000/bfmcomparison.asp
Some Southern Baptist churches refuse to adopt any version of the Baptist Faith and Message, preferring to reference the Bible instead.
Yes. It's called the Holy Bible. We condemn as sin what God does.
God has already demonstrated how He changes His word, and it’s not by sending atheists to tell us to ignore the Bible. The last time He notified us of changes, it was by sending his Son to tell us in person. I imagine the next time will be just as unambiguous. Until then, I will read the Bible for moral guidance, rather than looking to the LGBTQIDIOTs for spiritual enlightenment.
That’s how they define sin... change the wording.. make it legal... and you have the modern day sinless world!!
If that happens then true Christians will leave the big rock and roll churches and start small groups where real Christianity can take place. And deep Spiritual worship will again lift us to heavenly bliss.
Well, no and yes. They can hold them accountable to a Biblical standard, at the risk of severing their membership as an affiliate church in good standing. The SBC has already "disfellowshipped" several churches for apostasy.
So, yes, there are standards that a requires, with wide berth for other non-essential doctrines.
Lev 18:21 And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD.
Lev 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
Lev 18:23 Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion.
I agree with you. We’re told to love and sin is failure to love.
However, God did give us the law, which is a bunch of don’ts. And he did that because we weren’t apparently understanding what it is to love.
if the sinners decide what is a sin, won’t be no more sin. Won’t be no more morality either.
They're also the largest holding the Biblical view. That's why they're being attacked so viciously.
