Good point. Those touting Hillary’s greater vote count don’t know how many _would_ have voted for Trump if their vote actually meant something (vs Electoral College neutralizing any excess votes in a jurisdiction).
With those votes being cast & meaningful in a popular vote, Trump would then just have to sway the votes of “half plus one” of the remaining difference. Given a year where he’s gaining supporters, even cracking the bedrock of the Left’s base, his success as POTUS would likely sway enough for him were his second term be counted by popular vote.
All that said, I think he’s just trolling - embracing another Leftist talking point, causing them to flee their own in terror.
