The thing is Trump has to know by now that the Left will go after these nominees big time. He needs to nominate people that are bulletproof. I have to believe he's either a poor judge of character or he's getting really bad advise.

Pompeo is a perfect example of why the president should never expect reasonable behavior from the Democrats (and some Republicans).

He should nominate, for every position, the person he wants regardless of their so-called "acceptability", since they'll all get the same treatment anyway.

The left is actually weakening their political leverage by opposing everything the president does.
