Kim Jong Un Is All-In. Whats Next for Korea?
Theres a dark purpose in Kim Jong Uns proffered moratorium on nuclear and ballistic missile testing announced over the weekend. Kim, with the apparent complicity of South Koreas President Moon Jae-in, seeks to eventually merge his state into the South and drive out U.S. troops from the peninsula.
Most pundits thought Saturdays nuclear announcement was aimed at President Donald Trump, ahead of the planned Kim-Trump summit in June. Pyongyangs Korean Central News Agency quoted Kim Jong Un as saying his drive for nuclear weapons is complete. We no longer need any nuclear tests, mid-range and intercontinental ballistic rocket tests, he declared, adding that the nuclear test site in the northern area of his country has also completed its mission.
More likely, however, Kims intended audience is Moon Jae-in hoping to help Moon take further steps toward eventual reunification with the North, ahead of the Friday talks with the South Korean at the Peace House, south of the Military Demarcation Line in Panmunjom, the Demilitarized Zones Truce Village. When Kim crosses that line, he will become the first North Korean leader to visit the South.
So what is the Kimster up to? The core goal of the Kims, ever since the founding of the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea in 1948, is the takeover of the Republic of Korea. In the North, that is called final victory, and it is a term Kim has been using with some frequency.
We should not be surprised if Kim thinks he is on the verge of an historic accomplishment. In Moon, Kim has a willing target. The South Korean leader, after all, has surrounded himself with North Koreas most ardent advocates.

Kim Jong Un is a good guy now and he’ll just walk down south and take it over without firing a shot , NOT , LOL
What he is describing matches up with what I know.
Make Nork Great For The First Time?
Apple, Google, Microsoft, all the big companies will be opening factories there.
Mostly Chinese ones though.
Kim will be dipping his beak in the cream of the planet.
Unification.
Lots of food for thought. Indeed “the Devil is in the details”.
I want everyone to take this as a total joke. This is a farce. Even Trump knows this is a hoax. Trump is too smart for this and will dump this nonsense. Prepare for the draft ( including girls) in this country. We are closer to war than ever before.
Chang is pretty dialed in, good sources, good thinker.
The Koreas will never unite.
NK is so poor, they have minimal electricity and that is something they want from SK badly.
The Kims know that NK has a great hunger for technology, CDs, DVDs, thumb drives, cell phones, etc. The Kims know they will lose control of NK if they don’t modernize their economy.
NK is already working all they can get out of China. They are looking to greatly expand rail access to Russia.
the Kims will never give up their nukes.
They will sign a peace treaty with SK in order to demand US withdrawal from SK. Remember that SK was the only party that refused to sign the armistice in 1953. NK and the US signed off on a truce only.
SK is still technically in a declared state of war with NK. In fact, to keep NK from mapping SK, SK is the only country in the world that doesn’t allow Google mapping.
One last point. SK has anumber of large, family-controlled conglomerates enjoy close ties with the government.
They are absolutely enemies to the death with the Kims.
The most signifying foreign policy initiative of nuclear détente and end of hostilities of any world leader (since President Reagan WINNING the Cold War) and yet the left will still despise President Trump and the Nobel will go to Kim. Incidentally the focus will then be on trying to get Iran nuclear as swiftly as possible. The leftist globalists do not seek peace but wallow in division and chaos.
Never heard of the publication, but Gordon Chang is one of the most respected commentators on China and Asian issues. He is a frequent guest on conservative talk shows.
Not a problem. I take all of your posts as a total joke.
There are so many things people laughed about N. Korea and dismissed out of hand, which all came true instead. The ultimate end game they are pursuing with all efforts is what is described in the article above. They may not succeed in the end, but in the meantime, create a major crisis. China may not mind having S. Korea under NK control as long as they can control NK. At the same time, they will pull in S. Korea decisively in China's sphere. Firmly away from U.S. and Japan.
Everybody loves to ignore the ugly fact on NK's motivation. It does not go away if people look the other way. It is a deadly serious problem. NK and SK clients are and will be acting on it. That is the basic premise.
NK would not have attempted this if there is no loyal pro-North regime in SK.
Just disregard this fool and carry on. He’s fresh off his suspension from pissing his pants the night we hit Syria.
