“That is MS, AL, and LA, where you have aging, intrenched Republicans that the GOPE “protects.”

You don’t know what you are talking about. David Vitter was Louisiana’s first Republican senator, elected in 2005. Then Cassidy was elected a few years ago, and John Kennedy last time, for a grand total of three Republican senators. Hardly entrenched GOPe control, as is most states with GOP senators.

It is strange that you think an abortion promoter, a gay marriage proponent, an anti-American senator is not weird, as Moore’s opponent is.

Alabama had a chance to get rid of the GOPE’s “choice,” Luther Strange and elect a decent man to be their next Senator, Mo Brooks. Instead they allowed themselves to get caught up in the “ongoing saga” of Roy Moore, coupled with the GOPE’s money going to Strange and managed to get Doug Jones for their trouble. In MS, the GOPE drove out Mc Daniel to keep Thud Cochran around until his Depends filled up. In AL the other Senator is an 83 year-old curmudgeon, Richard Shelby, will probably be replaced in 2020 by a GOPE anointed candidate. As for LA, my bet is that both the Senators there are GOPE “placements” as well. Stepping over to the House, you have Steve Scalice, who is now looking to be Speaker. Also a big GOPE type. If we get either him or McCarthy, it will be as though Ryan never left.
