Exactly. Whereas the term "fake news" only gained currency during the 2016 election, the concept of "fake news" or media bias has been around for decades.
It's just like liberals think that conservatives all take their marching orders from Fox News, even though many conservatives don't like Fox and criticize it all the time.

Actually, CNN’s own Brian Stelter pretty much made up the term in the days following the election.
